We’ll be off towards Central to take a train out to the airport in just about 10 mins.

We’ll be in Sydney with a sunny 26°C in no time … ok 24 hours in transit from runway to runway.

Preparing for the journey

Karin and I are getting ready this week for the long journey to Australia. It’ll be an exhausting 24 hours in transit.
Luckily we’re flying with Emirates, I know that the seats in economy are comfortable and that the in-flight entertainment is excellent!
It’ll be the second time in over 3 years that I’ve been home and the first time in the last 2 years.
My whole family lives in Australia and with a time difference of 8-10 hours it’s hard to keep in contact with everyone.
I’m really excited to see my brother and my parents and it’ll be great to visit all of my grandparents.

We’ve planned to go camping for a week and to visit my Uncle and Aunt out past Dubbo. They live out on a property and grow grain crops and have cattle. I have lots of ideas I’d like to capture.

It’ll be a busy few weeks but I hope to find time to create some of my ideas. I have some good shots I took on my mum’s Olympus point-and-shoot at the zoo. The Taronga Park Zoo has a great bird show and great views over Sydney Harbour with the CBD on the other side of the water.

I’ll also have to take a look at my 120 Gb HDD that’s been living in my Dad’s PC. It came out of my server and has everything on it from the last 2 to 3 years while I was living at home so I have a lot of images on there too. A lot to sort through and delete.

Karin and I will be cleaning up the apartment because a friend of ours is staying there while we’re away in April and packing every thing we need for the month in Australia. I’m excited about it and Karin is just worried about the flight but excited about meeting my family.
